These three DVDs contain all the data presented in:

S. A. Pawiro, P. Markelj, F. Pernus, C. Gendrin et al: "Validation for 2D/3D Registration. Part I: A New Gold Standard Data Set", Medical Physics, 2011

and

C. Gendrin, P. Markelj, S. A. Pawiro, J. Spoerk et al: "Validation for 2D/3D registration. Part II : The comparison of intensity and gradient based merit functions using a new gold standard data set", Medical Physics, 2011

The data are free for scientific use, but the abovementioned papers must be cited if the data is used in a publication.

In detail, the dataset includes volume image data of a pig head, taken less than 24 hours after death. The phantom also contains considerable amounts of deformable soft tissue and seven fiducial markers. Image data sets include:

  • Multislice CT taken with 64 detector MDCT machine
  • T1, T2 and PD weighted MRI data acquired with a clinical 3T MR machine
  • CBCT data with two different FOV settings including the raw projection data
  • CBCT data with two different FOV settings including the raw projection data taken with the x-ray unit of an Elekta Synergy linac
  • Calibrated 2D planar x-ray and megavoltage portal images of the specimen.

DVD 1 contains the original data as provided by the imaging devices in DICOM format and also in the native .his format of the 2D x-ray imaging devices. .his is a raw data format featuring a header of 100 bytes fixed length. A set of registered sample slices can be found in the folder "SampleImages"; photographs of the preparation of the specimen are contained in the folder "Photos"

DVD2 and DVD3 contain PDF-documents with the gold standard registration matrices for all volumes and planar images AFTER INTERPOLATION TO CUBIC VOXELS OF 1 x 1 x 1 mm^3 and 1 x 1 mm^2 respectively. However, interpolated volumes with a resolution of 0.5 mm^3 and 0.5 mm^2 are also available. The image data were stored in DICOM, AnalyzeAVW and Analyze7.5 format. In addition, Quicktime movies and JPG images of the planar data are also provided alongside with the 16bit image data for visualization purposes.
